If you’ve taken a look at my home page you have read how it’s taking me a while to get moving, career wise. I have a career, but it’s more job like. I often know what I want to do, but I’m not proactive enough in moving towards my goals. Along with really getting into my word and stepping up my prayer life, I find listening to TD Jakes to be motivational and encouraging. Sometimes I feel like he’s talking to me like he can see what I’m doing, or not doing, right in that moment. It lets me know I’m not the only one who struggles with procrastination and begin stagnate for too long. I think about what my focus is doing those times and it’s not a spiritual one. So if my focus is off, my direction is off and without direction I tend to go no where.
In the sermon below, Jakes preaches on the danger of not moving. For many people there’s a big gap between becoming saved, new in Christ, and growing and maturing into a deeper relationship with Him. A relationship where you hear from Him and He tells you what to do. Jakes discusses 3 steps in our walk with Christ. We start with preparation which leads to dedication and than receive revelation from God. I’ll let him explain what each step entails. I don’t know about you, but it excites me to think about getting a revelation from God, and I feel awesome when it happens.
If you have time, listen and let me know what you think. Does the desire to have revelation straight from God give you the motivation to get moving?
