It's a New Year and I thank God for it. I admit, I get excited about the idea of a new year, a fresh start. A time to start implementing all those good habits I wish I had. A slogan I'm sure we've all heard too often is new year, new you, but even though I anticipate a new year, when I wake up on New Year's day, I feel like the same me. But there is "new" opportunity, the same opportunity we have every single day and that's to be better than we were before.
If you're looking for some New Year's inspiration this message from Dr. Myles Munroe should do it. My favorite part of this message, the future you're looking for is inside of you. God knows the plans He has for you. It's so easy to get caught up in external things, but nobody knows where we're going and where we'll end up but God. So really we don't need anything "new", but a deeper understanding of who God is and who we are in Him.
Let me know what you think.
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. — Ps 139:13-16
