Dear Reader,
I often reflect on the story in John 5: 1-5, when Jesus comes upon the lame man who has been lying by the healing pool. The man has been suffering for 38 years and although we don’t know how long he’s been sitting there, but incredibly he has come as far as he has only to stop short of getting in the water. What stops him? He’s waiting for someone to pick him up and carry him into the water. Just waiting.
Along comes Jesus who see’s his infirmity and tells him to pick up his mat and go and immediately the man is healed.
Sometimes, I feel like the lame man sitting by the healing waters just waiting for something to happen to me. For the things that I hope for and dream of to magically appear, except I’m not lame. I have no real excuse for my lack of movement. I’m educated and have a career, but lately (longer than I want to think about) I’ve just fallen into things and stayed there instead of passionately pursuing what God has for me. I’m praying for things, but not truly living in the abundance of the promises of God.
For me this website is a journey of discovery and hopefully breakthroughs about getting past those things that hold me back from doing the things I dream of. I’m no expert, just learning and growing about how to deal with stress, live healthier, deepen my spiritual walk and develop into a person who has gone from day dreaming to living my dreams.
This site is me picking up my mat and going forth, moving with purpose and acting on my faith. When I say you, I really mean me (maybe we). I hope what I have to share is helpful. Maybe we can pick up our mat together.
Sincerely,
JmercyJ
