In 1899, his remains as well as those of his wife Elizabeth were reburied in Four Mile House Cemetery in Sandusky Township, Sandusky County, Ohio.In this small, isolated, almost forgotten cemetery, reposed the mortal remains of the illustrious ancestor of the Waggoner family in Sandusky, Hancock and Seneca Counties, for more than half a century, when his descendants decided to remove the same to the lot of one of his grandson, Daniel Waggoner, eldest son of John, Jr., in the Four-Mile Cemetery.
